Welcome to Flowerdale Primary School, a small rural school nestled in the hills approximately 80 kilometres north-east of Melbourne.
At Flowerdale Primary School, every child is known, valued and supported. Our small school setting allows us to build strong relationships with students and families, provide small class sizes and create a caring, inclusive and community-focused learning environment.
We are committed to providing a safe, happy and supportive school where all students are encouraged to learn, grow and reach their full potential. Literacy and numeracy are key priorities, supported by a broad and engaging curriculum that includes Auslan, Art, Physical Education, Sport, Kitchen Garden, Library and digital technologies.
Our students are provided with opportunities to develop their confidence, leadership skills and sense of responsibility. Through student leadership, lunchtime clubs, community activities and whole-school events, students are encouraged to contribute their ideas and play an active role in school life.
Student wellbeing and inclusion are central to everything we do. Our caring and committed staff work closely together to provide high-quality teaching, responsive support and positive learning experiences for every student. Our school is supported by a Mental Health in Primary Schools Leader and a Student Engagement Leader, strengthening our approach to student wellbeing, engagement and family support.
Flowerdale Primary School is part of the Flowerdale Education and Early Learning Centre, creating a strong connection between Maternal and Child Health services, Flowerdale Kindergarten, our school and the wider community. We work closely with the kindergarten throughout the year to support children and families as they transition into school.
Our school facilities include welcoming classrooms, a multipurpose room, library, specialist learning areas, meeting and wellbeing spaces, and a kitchen. Our spacious grounds feature native and cottage gardens, an oval, basketball court, cubby house, adventure playground, sandpit and a variety of spaces for active, creative and imaginative play.
We are proud of our strong community connections and work closely with local organisations, including the CFA, Flowerdale Community House, local sporting clubs, Landcare and neighbouring schools.
Our Parents and Friends Association is being re-established, providing families with further opportunities to connect, contribute ideas, support school activities and help strengthen our school community. We also offer a community playgroup, allowing young children and families to become familiar with our school and build connections before beginning Foundation.
Flowerdale Primary School is a place where students, families, staff and community members work together and grow together.
We warmly invite you to discover what makes our small school such a special place to learn, belong and thrive.
