Welcome to Flowerdale Primary School. My name is Stephanie Marcanio, and I am thrilled to have been appointed to the Acting Principal role at this beautiful little school.
I have worked across a variety of different government schools, both Primary and Secondary and have had the opportunity to work with students social, emotional and developmental learning needs from Foundation to Year 12. I am so excited to get to know the staff, students and the community at Flowerdale and look forward to seeing what incredible things we can do within our little community.
When I am not at work, there is nothing I love more than spending time with my family. My husbands name is Anthony and together we have two little boys Archie who has just turned 4 and Ari who will be 3 soon. We also have a Shiba Inu Dog, named Loki. I am a Carlton supporter and although I hope the boys will change their minds, they are Essendon Supporters like their Dad. The boys keep us very busy, but ultimately are the reason why I am so very passionate about all the decisions we make as educators. I know that my boys will start school in the coming years and I would hope that the same care and consideration would go into all decisions made for them.
My passion is to help children and adults achieve thier full potential. Ensuring we pay close attention to the whole learner and keeping in mind that wellbeing and learning work hand in hand. To support an individuals full potential, we must take the time to get to know them and understand what they need to have the confidence to succeed. My vision is that all students feel SAFE and CONNECTED to their learning environment and experience THEIR own version of success. No matter their ability, all students at Flowerdale Primary School BELONG and play such an important role within our community.
I am beyond excited by the idea of working collaboratively to prepare our students for the brightest future, achieve the vision, Annual Implementation Plan and be a part of a team who work together to empower students to be the best they can be through the knowledge that they are unique, they are able and they belong.
Above all, I believe that learning is fun and I share this passion with all those around me and I let “what is best for the students” inform every decision I am faced with.
I look forward to meeting everyone and welcome the involvement of all parents in their childs learning.
