Cameron commenced at Flowerdale PS as the Acting Principal at the start of the 2024 school year. Cameron has been a Principal for two years and has a range of experiences in a range of schools. Cameron is the substantive Principal at Arthurs Creek PS and before that was an Assistant Principal for five years at Epping Views. Being a small school Principal is something that Cameron takes great pride in and he understands the importance of connecting with and engaging with the community. His passion for inclusive education and ensuring students have access to the curriculum with appropriate adjustments is at the core of the work, with students demonstrating both academic and personal success. You will often find Cameron inside classrooms reading books, having a laugh and supporting students with their learning. Outside of school, Cameron has two girls (high school age and Year 6) and is heavily involved in the equestrian world with his youngest as well as high level involvement in officiating and coaching officials across two sports.
Brooke McDonald Junior School Teacher
Brooke has been teaching in the Flowerdale community since 2003. She has a passion for books and reading and enjoys sharing this with her students. Brooke's strength is identifying misunderstandings that students can face in learning and planning engaging lessons to develop the whole student. Brooke previously worked part time as a tutor at FPS focusing on Mathematics and Literacy, and is now enthusiastically returning to a full-time classroom teacher role. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys teaching swimming at Strath Creek Swim school and spending time with her teenage son and daughter and two spoiled dogs.
Callum Gestautas Senior School Teacher & STEM
Callum joined the Flowerdale PS community at the commencement of the 2024 school year. He has worked in education for a number of years having taught in Primary, Secondary and adult learning environments. Callum is a strong believer in the importance of school communities and the roles of all stakeholders in achieving the best outcomes for students. He has a keen interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and is looking forward to assisting students and staff at Flowerdale to advance these skills in preparation for their future education and life beyond school.
Outside of school you can find him spending time with his family, distance running or filling the GD position for his social netball team. A goal for 2024 is to complete a few more half marathons.
Breanna Zala Senior School Teacher & Wellbeing
Jess spent her first 15 years as a high school PD/H/PE teacher. Working in three different schools across Sydney she also held the roles of Sports Coordinator and Year advisor. She then spent two years teaching in London where she also had the opportunity to get into Primary classrooms where she gained a greater understanding of different teaching methods. Looking for a change and a challenge Jess moved away from the classroom and spend 5 years working at an Indigenous Mentoring organisation, AIME. There she took on several managerial roles and was able to educate herself on the challenges that face aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children today. Jess is now a local Flowerdale resident and is passionate about the community and wants to do all that she can to improve the health and wellbeing of the future generations.
Cherie Graham Business Manager
Cherie has been the Business Manager at Flowerdale Primary School since 2017, previously working in Private Industry for 15 years before joining the Education Department in an Administrative Relief capacity at various Primary Schools. Outside of the schooling environment she is a wife and mother of a young teenage boy, enjoys getting away from it all hiking the tracks of nature and is currently planning her next big hike.
Erin Mitchell Education Support and Admin
Erin joined the Flowerdale PS team in early 2021 in an Education Support role, with a background encompassing Business, Customer Service and Hospitality Management. She brings enthusiasm, a lifelong love of learning and a desire to assist the talented teaching staff to provide the best possible educational experience to all students. When not at work, Erin enjoys spending time with family and appreciating the great outdoors.
Romani Haywood Education Support
Romani has recently joined the team at Flowerdale Primary School, commencing at the start of 2024. She is currently undergoing a bachelor of education and aspires to be a primary school teacher. She has experience as an Outside of School Hours Care coordinator and as a swimming instructor. Romani is passionate about ensuring that all students feel supported and are excited to learn. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
